man, it's like no space is ever right for us, you know?
whether you're a celebrity or just a fan, our spaces get unfortunately clogged with other people who cannot stand the sight. cue the eye roll. so, we ask the major question:
what fandom space is not leaning to the right at this point?
from anime to k-pop and allllll the way down to the latest game characters, as long as you're not the same skin color as the girl above, you'll survive! such a shame how they continue to exlcude, harass, and nearly push away black fans from every media possible. as a black queer myself, unsafe to say that the chances of a redpilled, right winged, trolling user encountering other black fans would be.... well, up high. think i'm lying?
twitter is easy proof.
halle bailey announced as ariel. black cosplayers & artists daring to headcanon their favorite characters as black. storm with marvel rivals. emma frost having an egyptian skin in the same game.... i can go on.
now, there is one big community that i have experienced high... and i do, high, levels of racism at: the k-pop community. my goodness, is it literal hell on every platform! god forbid, a black fan, and other non white fan, wants to call out what is wrong. the reason i even bring up this is solely from groups like BTS or KATSEYE, whose average fan is, of course, a person of color. and speaking of KATSEYE..........
............... under literal boiling water ever since manon, a black idol, left due to the stacked racism & harassment that the label failed to defend manon from. a very sad day i'll tell you that. you also have other black idols such as fatou from BLACKSWAN, who gets called everything but the child of god.
not to mention also, with the group BTS, and many other groups that do not have fully black or mixed black members, it gets ten times worse as a black fan. if a member were to say an offensive thing, it really doesn't matter whether you accept their apology or not, the rest of the fandom will still cause havoc over it. oh, how dare these black fans address them instead of moving on like it's a regular tuesday!! grrrr!!
either way, we don't ever win at the end.
